1. WHY AM I RECEIVING A NEW CREDIT CARD? We are updating our credit cards to provide enhanced features, improved security and a better overall experience.
  2. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY NEW CARD? Cards will be sent in the mail starting October 18, 2024. We anticipate that all cards will be received no later than November 8, 2024. Activate your new card before November 9, 2024. Don’t forget to destroy your old card!
  3. WHAT DOES THIS CREDIT CARD OFFER THAT MY OLD CARD DID NOT? Tap to Pay – Your new card is contactless. The card contains a special computer chip that enables you to “tap” your card at any ATM/Point of Sale (store) terminal with the contactless symbol. Contactless cards help prevent fraud caused by skimming devices placed on ATMs and other terminals. For point-of-sale (store) or online purchases, contactless transactions will be processed as routine credit transactions. A PIN will be required if the card is used to request a cash advance at an ATM.
  4. CAN I CONTINUE USING MY OLD CARD? No. Your old card will not work after November 9, 2024.
  5. WILL MY ACCOUNT NUMBER STAY THE SAME? No. Your new card comes with a new account number. For security purposes, joint cardholders and authorized users will receive a unique card number. All transactions on an account will be consolidated on one bill.
  6. WILL MY CARD LOOK THE SAME? No; all Western Vista credit cards have a brand-new look! Consumer credit cards feature silhouettes of iconic Wyoming symbols, while business credit cards feature topographical maps of Wyoming landmarks.
  7. WHY ARE THERE MULTIPLE DESIGNS? Each card type has its own design. There are four different credit card options: personal platinum, personal rewards, business platinum and business rewards.
  8. I DIDN’T RECEIVE A NEW CARD. WHAT DO I DO? Double-check your mail–especially mail that arrived at the end of October. If you haven’t received a card by November 8, 2024, please notify us by calling or texting 1-800-310-2197.
  9. I HAVE AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS TO PAY MY CREDIT CARD BILL EACH MONTH. WILL THIS CONTINUE OR DO I NEED TO MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT? If you have established automatic payments from a Western Vista deposit account, the automated transfer will continue without any required action. If you set up automatic payment from a non-WVCU deposit account, you must re-establish that transfer and update the card number.
  10. WILL I BE ABLE TO PAY MY BILL ONLINE? Yes. Cardholders can make direct transfer payments from their Western Vista app or online banking portal.
  11. WILL THE REWARDS PROGRAM BE THE SAME? The rewards program is changing, but you will be able to use your rewards points for the same great things: travel, electronics, home goods, gift cards and more! The Visa Rewards card earns 1 point for every $1 spent.
  12. WILL MY REWARDS CARRY OVER? No. Your points will expire on October 31, 2024. Please be sure to spend them before the expiration date.
  13. DO YOU OFFER BUSINESS CREDIT CARDS? Yes! Western Vista Credit Union offers two types of business credit cards: business platinum and business rewards.
  14. WILL MY MINIMUM MONTHLY PAYMENT CHANGE?  Minimum monthly payments will be calculated the same. They are calculated to be either 3% of the outstanding balance as of the cycle close date or $30, whichever is greater.
  15. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CREDIT CARD IS LOST/STOLEN/DAMAGED IN THE MAIL? If your card is lost, stolen, damaged, or has suspicious activities before October 18, 2024, we will get you a new card as quickly as possible. If your card is lost or stolen between October 19 and November 9, 2024, you still need to notify the credit union of this. However, we will not be able to provide a new card to you until after November 9, 2024. If we receive notification from you during this period, we will rush order a replacement card on November 11, 2024.
  16. WILL MY PAYMENT DUE DATE CHANGE? As of your December statement, your payment due date will be the 15th of the month. Monthly statements will be generated on the 11th of the month.
  17. I HAVE ELECTRONIC DELIVERY (E-STATEMENTS) FOR MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS. WILL THAT CONTINUE? We will still offer e-statements, but you will need to re-enroll. Please call or text 1-800-310-2197 or visit any branch for assistance.
